This privacy policy applies when you interact with us, or when you create an account for our design platform available on our website klingit.com (the “Platform”) and use our design services (“Services”).
This privacy policy applies to data we collect and use for our own purposes as a “data controller”. Please note that in the course of delivering our Services, we also process certain personal data for our customers in the capacity of a “data processor”. The processing of such personal data is governed by a separate data processing agreement entered between us and the customer organization purchasing the Services.

What is personal data?
Personal data means any data that can be used to identify you, such as your name, address, contact information, and technical data. In this privacy policy, we also refer to personal data as “data”.
For what purposes will we use your data?
We use your data for the purposes listed below.
- Providing access to the Platform. We use your data to provide access to and operate the Platform, including to facilitate account creation and login, manage user accounts, send administrative information to users, and to fulfill and manage orders. This processing is necessary for the performance of the service agreement we have with you.
- Providing trials and freemium access. If you have signed up for the Platform without purchasing a subscription or project, we will process and store personal data included in content you upload to the Platform or otherwise provide to us in accordance with this privacy policy. If you are, or have been a paying customer, see ‘Exclusions and third-party sites’ below.
- Entering into and managing agreements. We process your contact details provided in agreements or other related documentation. This processing is necessary for the performance of the applicable agreement we have with you.
- Invoicing, administration, and bookkeeping. We process your contact details for invoicing and administration purposes. The processing is necessary for the performance of the applicable contract and for compliance with legal obligations we are subject to, such as retaining certain accounting information in accordance with the Swedish Accounting Act.
- Communication and support. We use personal data to respond to customer enquiries, provide customer care and support services. Such support includes but is not limited to questions related to your subscription and technical support. This processing is necessary for the performance of the customer agreement we have with you, or in other cases, on our legitimate interest to conduct business.
- Sending newsletters. We sometimes send updates about news we think might interest our customers, such as the release of new features. You can also choose to subscribe to our newsletter on our website. We send newsletters to existing customers and users based on our legitimate interest in keeping our customers informed about our latest features, and to website subscribers based on consent. You may at any time choose to unsubscribe by using the “unsubscribe” instructions provided in each newsletter.
- Marketing. We may process your contact details, videos, and photos to promote our services via social media platforms. The processing is based on your consent, given if you choose to participate in such promotional material. You may at any time withdraw your consent.
- Improving Klingit. We collect and analyze different usage data to develop, customize and improve our services. We aggregate usage data for these purposes based on our legitimate interest to improve our services.
- Ensuring data security and fraud prevention. We may use personal data based on legitimate interest to enhance security, prevent fraud, and protect our operations. This includes measures to detect and respond to security incidents and prevent unauthorized access.

Okay, and what data will we collect?
What data we collect about you depends on why you’re in contact with us and what data you choose to share with us. For the purposes above, we may collect and use the following types of data about you.
- Contact details, such as name, e-mail, title, company, address and phone number.
- Information from other sites (with your consent), such as profile information from Google, if you use Google for signing up for the Platform.
- Information provided when communicating with us by email, web forms or other offline means.
- Technical data, such as IP-address, log files, usage data calendar events, and screen recordings collected through the Platform and in conjunction with support.
- Photos, and/or video and voice, during support sessions, online meetings, in profile pictures, or if you participate in a marketing campaign on social media.
- Personal data included in content you upload to the Platform, if you are a trial or freemium user and have not purchased our Services.
Exclusions and third-party sites
Please note that this privacy policy does not cover personal data included in content uploaded to the Platform as part of providing our design services to a paying customer. The processing of such personal data is governed by a separate data processing agreement between us and the customer organization purchasing the services. The customer is the data controller of any personal data in content uploaded to the Platform and Klingit is the data processor.
Our website and services include links to external sites and third-party plugins. Note that our privacy policy applies solely to the personal information we collect and process. We are not liable for the data practices of third-party sites or plugins you access or use, which have their own privacy policies we recommend reviewing.
Who can access your data?
Suppliers that help us provide our services
To fulfill the purposes described above, we sometimes need to share your data with third parties. We use certain partners to help us provide, improve, promote, and protect our Services. For example, we use suppliers for data storage, e-mail and chat services, file management and web hosting. These suppliers may only use your data in accordance with our instructions and we only share such data that is required to perform the service in question. The data that we collect about you is mainly processed and stored within the European Union but may be transferred to other countries where our partners or suppliers are located or maintain facilities.
